Swansea Castle Square

The meeting place for Emos, Scene, Chavs, Goths, Gangsters, Chemos, Plastics, Wemos, Lolitas, Spice Boys, Skaters, Bikers and Screamos.  All the elements that make up todays contemporary youth culture in the UK.  Meeting in Swansea Castle Square from all over the South of Wales.

This photography blog is partly for those who gather there in Castle Square and to record what goes on as seen through the eyes of a student photojournalist documenting their lives in Swansea Castle Square for the past couple of months. 

The intention of the photographer is to find out who these youths are and find out their effect on the City of Swansea.  Understand why they come to Swansea, how long they have been coming, and be a witness to how they interact in Castle Square.   It is also a way for the public of Swansea to understand who these youths are.

Eventually there will be a series of books about the youths in Swansea Castle Square.  There will also be a series of exhibitions about the work, one in Swansea in May 2009 and another in London in June 2009.
