This website is now not being updated any more. I’ve ONLY removed the image libraries (except for the profile pages) from the site to save space (but I still have them backed up for anybody interested). Any further interest with the youth culture project should be directed towards my new website:
I’m keeping this blog where it is for now as and when I resume any projects relating to Castle Square.

Here is a recent review of a book where some of my images can be found. The book is a collection of 7 stories from young writers from around Wales. The book is priced at £6.99 but you can find it on Amazon used for £1.75 at the time of writing.

Because of the company I am dealing with, the ability to buy the books online was only for 14 days until at least one was sold, and then they would stay online indefinitely. Nobody bought a copy so they are no longer available online unless I re-upload them. Unless somebody asks me to, I won’t be doing that, and instead you’ll have to buy it directly from me.

Pictured is the 13inch by 11inch version
I am happy to now announce that the book is now available. There are multiple versions for those who are interested. Click on the badges below to find out more information. Inside the link are preview functions to scroll through the pages to see some of the content. All versions of the book have the same images, they are different sizes because not everybody will be able to afford the expensive versions.
There are 48 pages in the book (the preview shows the first 15 page), roughly half the images are from Castle Square while the other half of the book, are images from individuals homes.
1, Hard Cover – the book size is 13 inches by 11 inches priced at £51.00 and £49.00. Click the icon below to buy.
2, Hard Cover & Soft Cover – the book size is 7inches by 7inches priced at £26.00 and £17.00.
Here is a pdf download of the file. It will allow you to view the images in the book but they are not in the same order as the book.

Here is the work that is on display at the moment at my University for those interested.

The exhibition as far as I know (but will check) the exhibition will run on till the 5th of June. Uni is open to all visitors to see my work and the photography work of everybody at Dynevor campus.
This is the location, and my University and the exhibition starts at 6pm, not 7pm as stated before. Entry is free and refreshments will be provided. See you there
Look at this story recently published in www.thisissouthwales.co.uk. It is about ‘boozy sex sessions on city beach.’ I read the story and made this comment:
What a sensationalist headline. I’m a documentary photographer who photographs the young people who are on the beach, coming from castle square. I have been documenting them for nearly a year now, can’t say I’ve ever seen sex on the beach, but it only takes something like this to happen to become a story in the paper.
Rather than pour complete scorn on the youths, why not look at the issues they face by being in the city, writing a negative story, achieves nothing constructive. I know for a fact, the youths will be annoyed with this as it isn’t representative of what everybody does on the beach. This story is just driving people away from one another, any problems like this run deeper and need more attention and a rational response than a media story which amounts to tittle tattling.
I also noticed this story solely takes the viewpoint of the disgruntled beach resident. Don’t forget, whatever happens, we are talking about children here, people who are still growing up in the world, we made for them.
Whether the comment is published is another issue. I don’t think this story is in anyway helpful to anyone, and just pushes people away from one another. Residents are annoyed, families will be annoyed by suspecting what their children are up to and of course those who go to the beach will be annoyed. There is no point in writing a negative, finger pointing story about children.
UPDATE: The newspaper did publish the comment, which was nice.
